YOUR INFORMATION
Privacy Notice
This notice explains how PCN Electronics Ltd handles personal information when you contact us about repairs, email us or use this website.
Who is responsible for your information?
The data controller is PCN Electronics Ltd, company number 9468114, registered in England and Wales. Registered office: Mayflower Avenue, Saxmundham, Suffolk, IP17 1BX. Workshop: Saxmundham, Suffolk (the full address is provided directly to customers when needed). Contact: repairs@pcnelectronics.co.uk or 07908 974679.
Information we collect
When you submit the repair enquiry form, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, address, equipment make and model, fault description and preferred drop-off method. If you email us, we collect the information you choose to include and any subsequent correspondence. Technical information such as server logs may be processed by our website hosting provider for security, reliability and troubleshooting.
Why we use it and our lawful bases
We use enquiry information to respond to questions, assess requested repair work, arrange equipment handover or courier delivery, provide estimates, carry out requested services and keep appropriate business records. The usual lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract and performing a contract with you. We may also rely on legitimate interests for routine business administration, security and handling correspondence, where those interests are not overridden by your rights. Legal obligations may require us to retain certain records.
We do not sell personal information. Our website is hosted by Krystal Hosting. Enquiry messages are sent using the SMTP server mail.pcnelectronics.co.uk to repairs@pcnelectronics.co.uk, which we access through our BT email account. We are checking the underlying email service and any storage, backup and international-transfer arrangements; this notice should be updated if those checks identify further processors or transfers.
Cookies and analytics
This website stores your cookie preference in your browser so it can remember whether you accepted or rejected optional analytics cookies. The preference record is stored locally in your browser. The website includes a control for remembering your cookie preferences. We have not confirmed that any analytics service is installed on the live version of this new site. Non-essential analytics or tracking must not be enabled unless any required consent has been obtained. If analytics is added, this notice and the cookie controls must be updated to identify it.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary. Unsuccessful enquiries are normally deleted or anonymised within 12 months of the last meaningful contact. Repair and customer records are normally retained for up to six years after the repair or transaction where needed for service history, contractual, warranty or legal purposes. Accounting and tax records are retained for the period required by applicable law. We review records periodically and securely delete or anonymise them when no longer needed, unless there is a valid reason or legal obligation to retain them longer. Cookie preference data remains in the browser until changed or cleared by the visitor.
Your data protection rights
Subject to the conditions and exceptions in data protection law, you may ask for access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, erasure, restriction of processing, or object to processing. You may also have a right to data portability where the legal requirements apply. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time; withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal. To make a request, contact repairs@pcnelectronics.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
Complaints
If you have concerns, please contact us first so we can try to resolve them. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/. The ICO website provides guidance on how to make a complaint.
